The Most Effective Strategies To Bring More Traffic To Your Website

May 5, 2021 by Post

Getting a website is only half the battle when you want your business to have an online presence. Once the site is up, you need people to be visiting it. Unfortunately, the wild west of the internet isn’t an “if you build it, they will come” sort of scenario. It takes a bit of organization and effort to draw people to your webpage. The following will look at some of the things you can do to increase traffic to your website.

Keep All The Information Up To Date

This one should seem obvious, but it isn’t always. One of the first steps to boosting traffic is to get everything up to date on your site. Ensure that all the relevant information is there so that anyone who does end up on your site finds what they need. Search engines know when people click out quickly because they didn’t find what they were looking for. Ensure you’ve got all the appropriate contact information, pricing, hours of operation, location, and product and service descriptions. You might also want to include a frequently asked questions section that includes all the questions you typically get from clients or customers. If people ask you about something in person, you can bet other people are searching for the same issue online.

How Do You Use Keywords To Boost Site Traffic?

Understand what phrases the people who need your product or service might be searching and include them (naturally, please, not like a robot would) into the content on your webpage. This will help search engines figure out that your page is the perfect thing to suggest when people type in those questions. You might even want to phrase your headings as the exact question (like we did above).

Internal and External Backlinks

Backlinks are sites that link back to your website. When this happens, search engines interpret these links as evidence that your site is useful. The folks at https://www.digitallogic.co/blog/dental-seo/ point out that if other websites (like your local newspaper, your yelp page, your social media site, and a handful of medium articles) link back to your page, your site is deemed more trustworthy and is more likely to show up when people search. As well, you want the links within your site to be strong. If, for instance, you mention something casually in your FAQ section that you have written a blog post on, insert a hyperlink so that anyone interested can read more about the topic.

Get Rid Of Any Doubles

You shouldn’t have the same information word for word on multiple pages. Search engines pick up on this and sense that there’s a chance some of your content is copied and judges it as less trustworthy.

The above tips should get traffic to your site started. Of course, as with everything on the internet, things take time to snowball. Ensure that you’re consistently applying these tips and checking back regularly for areas of improvement. As algorithms often change, you need to be ready to pivot every few months if you want to continue gaining traffic.
