St. Petersburg, FL — Movies in the Park, a community event hosted by Preserve the ‘Burg, returns to North Straub Park, located at 400 Bayshore Drive NE, May 6th and May 20th, after a year-long hiatus due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Featuring live music starting at 7 PM and local food vendors, Movies in the Park invites St. Petersburg locals to grab a seat on the waterfront lawn of North Straub Park and enjoy family-friendly classics on a big outdoor movie screen. The featured films include a PG-rated version of My Cousin Vinny on May 6th and Two Weeks Notice on May 20th.
Movies in the Park will also feature local musical acts including Autumn Jane on May 6th and Barney and Leta of Urban Gypsies Fame on May 20th.
To make Movies in the Park a safe and socially-distanced event, masks will be required and capacity is limited. Tickets must be purchased in advance in order to attend. General admission tickets are $10, Children 15 and under are free to attend with a pre-registered ticket. Preserve the ‘Burg is also offering a $5 ticket option for local St. Petersburg families or individuals who have suffered financially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ticket revenue goes toward supporting Preserve the ‘Burg’s advocacy, education, and preservation efforts in St. Petersburg, including the upcoming relocation and renovation of the Shell Dash Cottage. You can learn more about this project at preservetheburg.org/Historic-Properties-Program
