Plan Hillsborough proves we “Love to Ride” In March, Plan Hillsborough participated in Love to Ride’s Tampa Bay Bike Challenge along with 37 other workplaces. Bike/Walk Tampa Bay organized the event, and Plan Hillsborough placed first in its size category. With overwhelming participation, the agency also managed to outride many larger organizations. BOCC extends moratorium for WVR-2 and RP-2, requests additional public meetings At their March 4 and April 7 public hearings, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) approved the moratorium extension prohibiting new rezoning applications in the Residential Planned-2 (RP-2) and Wimauma Village Residential-2 (WVR-2) land use categories in the Balm and Wimauma Community Planning Areas. The moratorium is now set to expire on December 31, 2021 and allows for additional public outreach and engagement to occur surrounding the RP-2 and WVR-2 land use studies. Read more |
Three new section updates underway for Hillsborough County Comprehensive Plan As part of the phased approach, Planning Commission staff is working with Hillsborough County subject matter experts to prepare updates to three sections of the plan – Coastal Management, Solid Waste and Recreation and Open Space. Tampa’s PURE project to supplement river flow PURE, Purify Usable Resources for the Environment, is a proposed water infrastructure project intended to result in environmental and water resource benefits. If approved, the city will redirect up to 50 million gallons per day of highly treated reclaimed water that would otherwise be discharged into Hillsborough Bay from the City’s Howard F.
