Parkinson Place Announces Virtual Summit 2021

SARASOTA, FL, April 5, 2021 – Parkinson Place is excited to announce the Parkinson Place Virtual Summit 2021. The Virtual Summit offers attendees a dynamic and inspiring interactive forum highlighting the latest in evidence-based programs, treatments, products and educational opportunities for Parkinson’s patients and caregivers. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, members attend the Summit FREE of charge!

Parkinson Place serves the physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of members living with Parkinson’s disease through education, empowerment, support, and community resources. All of Parkinson Place’s programs are free to members giving them opportunities to stay active and engaged while facing the overwhelming challenges of Parkinson’s disease.

Guest speakers include Kelly Foote, MD. Dr. Foote is a professor of neurosurgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine and co-director of the Normal Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases at UF Health. One of few neurosurgeons with fellowship training in both movement disorders neurology and deep brain stimulation (DBS), Dr. Foote has performed nearly 2,000 DBS lead implantation surgeries since joining UF in 2002. He has published more than 185 peer-reviewed research articles in the fields of deep brain stimulation and stereotactic radiosurgery.

Other guest speakers include Teepa Snow, Occupational Therapist, Angela Roberts, Professor at Northwestern University in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Carley Rusch, Clinical Dietitian, and Rebecca Henson, Physical Therapist.
