Tax Collector Mike Fasano & Staff Raised Over $4,100 for the “YMCA of the Suncoast” Swimming Lesson Program as the February Charity of the Month

April 5, 2021 by Post

The featured Charity of the Month for February 2021 was the YMCA of the Suncoast. Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano’s five offices collected $4,112.27 in donations to support the Y’s swimming lesson program. Water safety is a high priority of the YMCA and it is a mission that is shared by the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office. In a county that is bordered by the Gulf of Mexico and neighborhoods that have swimming pools and countless lakes, the importance of preparing young people to navigate safely in the water is a top priority.

“On behalf of the YMCA of the Suncoast and the Pasco County community, we would like to thank the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office and all those that made donations in the month of February to help save lives,” comments Julio Vega, District Vice President for the YMCA of the Suncoast. “Children learning to swim is an essential skill every child must learn. Because of the support of others, the YMCA is in a better position to make sure children learn to swim this year.”

“The YMCA is the premier agency to provide swim lessons to young people in our community,” comments Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “It was our honor to help raise funds to support families who may not otherwise be able to afford water safety lessons. Many thanks to a very generous public for the donations they have made.”
