Tampa – The University of Tampa Sykes College of Business’ part-time MBA and graduate entrepreneurship programs, and UT’s master’s degree in nursing, were named as some of the best programs in the country in the 2022 edition of “Best Graduate Schools” by U.S. News & World Report.
The UT graduate entrepreneurship program tied at No. 35 with programs at the University of Florida, Xavier University (OH) and Carnegie Mellon University (PA).
UT’s part-time MBA program was ranked No. 158, tied with such schools as Wayne State University (MI), Hofstra University and University of Northern Iowa.
U.S. News’s graduate business rankings are based on peer assessments, entering student GPA, GMAT and GRE scores, years of work experience of entering students and percentage of MBA students in the part-time program.
Within an 80,000-square-foot facility, the Sykes College of Business offers state-of-the-art resources such as the Huizenga Family Foundation Trading Center and more than 1,300 data ports and Wi-Fi for high-speed access. It is also home to the Center for Ethics, TECO Energy Center for Leadership, Naimoli Institute for Business Strategy, Lowth Entrepreneurship Center, Institute for Sales Excellence and the Florida Directors’ Institute.
UT’s master’s degree in nursing (MSN) program was ranked No. 117, out of 220 programs nationwide.
To be included in the ranking, schools were required to offer master’s programs accredited by either the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. The rankings are based on quality assessment, research activity, faculty resources, student selectivity and master’s program size.
UT has offered the Master of Science in Nursing degree and four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs for many years. Typically, 100% of nursing graduates pass the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on the first try. The pass rate of UT’s MSN nurse practitioner (NP) students taking NP National Certification Exams is typically 98%. The National Certification Exam is required by the State of Florida for licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) nurse practitioners.
UT’s additional health science programs include a doctoral degree in nursing practice (DNP), physician assistant medicine, allied health, athletic training and graduate exercise and nutrition science.
The nursing program is housed in the new, 91,000-square-foot Graduate and Health Studies Building, which includes simulation labs, a digital anatomy lab and all the latest health technology and equipment.
