After a little less than a year of no show and boring Saturday nights, the 17th series of popular British dance TV show strictly come dancing is finally here. Many thanks to social media, the show has now become very popular not in just the UK but virtually worldwide.
When in 2004 the show first aired, viewers could only view the show on BBC 1 but fast forward 16 seasons later, strictly come dancing can now be viewed virtually anywhere in the world and not just on your TV but as well as on various streaming websites all over the world.
Strictly come dancing is now so popular that many bookmakers or sportsbooks ( as those in the USA call it ) now offer punters opportunities of predicting the winners of strictly come dancing and make money. Many have made good money, some even become rich as a result of betting on strictly come dancing.
And thanks to the team at betway casino, you can now reasonably guess those who are likely to win strictly come dancing as the team has done an extensive research and came out with an interesting infographic that details all the previous 222 contestants. Through this research, betway has been able to arrive at a winning blueprint for success that will be useful to punters.
Some of the factors betway considered to arrive at what they regard as the blueprint for success is as follows;
According to betway’s research, age is clearly a factor that determines the eventual winner of all the previous editions of strictly come dancing. Judging by the ages of the previous winners of strictly come dancing, or at those who got to the later stages of the TV show, celebrities who are the peak of their physical condition are more likely to win strictly come dancing and that’s not a surprise considering how physically demanding Ballroom dancing can be.
Joe McFadden who won the 15th series at the age of 41 was the only previous winner older than 30. A further research into the previous winners shows that all but one of the previous contestants who ended up finishing among the top 2 were older than 30. Most were in their early to mid 20s.
According to betway, there have been 44 contestants aged between 20-29 and off these 44, 18 of them which equates to 40.9% finished among the top half of the competition and off these 44, 7 which is roughly 15.9% went on to win the competition.
However, there have been occasions when celebrities in their 50s went far in the show, they however had to achieve this by being very exceptional. Of the 28 contestants who were in their 50s at the beginning of the show, only the duo of Debbie McGhee and Pamela Stephenson made it into the top six.
Aside from those who were in their 50s, there has been a few celebrities who were in their 60s, but the outlook looks even bleaker for those in their 60s as only Anne Widdicombe whose performance was adjourned by many to be woefully and as a result of her age and woeful performance finished in the top 6 which equates to 5.88%.
There have been three contestants ( Paul Daniels, Johnny Ball, and Lesley Joseph ) in their 70s and none of them made it to the top 10.
