UT’s Sykes College of Business to Host Faculty Research Day on March 19

March 12, 2021 by Post

TAMPA – On Friday, March 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at a virtual event, faculty from The University of Tampa’s Sykes College of Business will present their research that was conducted over the past year at the Sykes College of Business Faculty Research Day.

The more than 100 full-time faculty members in the College of Business have had more than 78 intellectual contributions published in noteworthy journals this past year. Many of them were in top journals, including Journal of Corporate Accounting & Finance, Journal of Service Marketing Digital Policy, Regulation and Governance and InternationalJournal of Cross Culture Management.

There are five separate sessions, each lasting about an hour. Each faculty member will give a 10-minute presentation on their published research. Attendees are welcome to stay for one, a few or all sessions. There will be question-and-answer sessions to encourage further discussions of the topics presented. A full schedule of presenters and topics is available upon request.

The Sykes College of Business prides itself on being a premier teaching institution with intellectual contributions such as these making an impact on theory and practice. Faculty Research Day, according to Frank Ghannadian, dean of the College of Business, is both a celebration of the faculty successes in publishing in journals and a recognition of how the college’s applied research helps the business community.

The showcase is free and open to the public, though registration is required. To register for the event and then receive the Zoom link, go to ut.edu/business/facultyresearchday.

For more information, contact Dominique Walker, coordinator of College of Business operations, at dwalker@ut.edu or (813) 257-3782.

The University of Tampa is a private, comprehensive university located on 110 acres on the riverfront in downtown Tampa. Known for academic excellence, personal attention and real-world experience in its undergraduate and graduate programs, the University serves approximately 10,000 students from 50 states and about 130 countries. The majority of full-time students live on campus, and about half of UT students are from Florida.
