The popular South St. Pete Mexican restaurant has recently launched a revamped menu with several new dishes including their latest addition, in trending fashion – Birria Tacos. Nueva Cantina now offers their own take on the Jalisco originated dish and we sat down with co-owner Andrew Spurgeon to get the scoop.
“At Nueva Cantina, it’s all in the technique. From the initial tortilla dunk in our house-made birria broth to the sizzle on the grill, every step is carefully taken for the perfect fold and slight crunch at the end. We serve our birria tacos with a side of the seasoned stew and choice of rice and beans,” says Spurgeon.
Along with birria tacos, the Mexican restaurant also released the following lunch and dinner plates:
Mexican Pizza // Refried beans, pico de gallo, Monterey and cheddar jack cheese, topped with black olives, guacamole, and poblano crema. Add chicken, beef, shrimp, or steak at additional cost.
Camarones Al Ajillo // Jumbo succulent shrimp sauteed in a garlic sauce served with rice and choice of black or refried beans.
Oaxacan Chicken Wings // 8 Jumbo and lightly breaded, finished with garlic and queso fresco, topped with cilantro.
Key Lime Brûlée // House made key lime pie brûléed, topped with lime glaze and whipped cream.
