SARASOTA, FL – Shumaker Partner David Wyant will team with Olympic Champion Lindsay Shoop to announce the 2020 United States Rowing Olympic Trials at Nathan Benderson Park on February 25th and 26th, which will be streamed live on NBCSports.comand the NBC Sports App.
The Olympic Trials will be streamed by USRowing on NBC’s digital platforms, beginning with the semifinals at 8 a.m. (EST) on February 25th and continuing with the finals at 8:30 a.m. (EST) on February 26th.
David was introduced to the sport of rowing in high school by his grandmother and continued to compete in college at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut.
“My experience as a coxswain made announcing very natural, as one of the coxswain’s race duties is to call the play-by-play of the event as it unfolds so that the rowers know where they stand and can adjust their race plan as necessary,” said David.
Since 2012, David has been the rowing voice of Nathan Benderson Park. He announced the 2016 United States Rowing Olympic Trials and has announced the World Rowing Championships, the Under-23 World Rowing Championships, the NCAA Championships, and has been a consistent announcer for the USRowing Youth National Championships and Florida State Championships.
