Gulfside Cares Program Empowers Employees to Volunteer
SARASOTA, FL (February 16, 2021)—Gulfside Bank announced the formation of Gulfside Cares, a new human resources program that encourages Gulfside employees to volunteer for local charitable organizations.
“Effective January 1, 2021, each Gulfside employee will be eligible to volunteer up to 40 hours per year ‘on the clock’,” stated Dennis Murphy, President and CEO of Gulfside Bank. “This program is intended to further one part of Gulfside’s Mission Statement; specifically, that of ‘working to strengthen our community.’”
Since the bank’s founding in 2018, playing an active role in the local community has been part of the organization’s DNA. The management team regularly supports charitable organizations through volunteerism, board
service, and event participation. The Gulfside Cares Program creates an opportunity for the rest of the employees to take ownership
of their volunteer efforts, seek out the causes they are passionate about, and still get paid for their time.
“With the help of a steering committee, we compiled a list of 18 local nonprofits where employees can choose to volunteer their time,” shares Carol Palmer, VP and Corporate Secretary of Gulfside Bank. “With so many wonderful local groups in town it was difficult to narrow down our list, but
we have a great cross-section of nonprofits serving everything from food security to animal lovers.”
