Gulfport, FL — The Sixth Annual Gulfport Fine Arts Festival returns to the shores of Boca Ciega Bay this Valentine’s Day weekend with a two-day celebration of fine art featuring nearly 40 of the region’s most innovative artists. The two-day event takes place Saturday, February 13 – Sunday, February 14 from 10am – 5pm each day and is free and open to the public at Gulfport Veterans Park.
Since its debut in 2016, the Gulfport Fine Arts Festival has become a staple on the town and region’s creative calendar for artists and arts-lovers alike. Artists representing a wide range of artistic mediums will be on hand alongside live entertainment and an arts-loving community in this socially distanced showcase of creativity.
Ceramic artist Brenda McMahon, a participant in the festival, heads the Arts Committee of the GMC and owns Brenda McMahon Gallery, which houses works from many of the festival’s artists:
Says McMahon, “The Gulfport Fine Arts Festival is now celebrating its sixth year and with that, the quality of the show and appreciation of the audience continues to grow. Most visitors love the meandering path along Boca Ciega Bay, where they can view handmade artwork, listen to jazz music and support local artists. It’s a great place to buy art and appreciate all the beauty around.”
A wide range of artistic media will be available to arts-loving Valentine’s gift shoppers at the festival, including ceramics, oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, drawings, fiber, glass, metal, mixed media, photography, fine jewelry and sculptural art.
“Gulfport has always been an arts destination, but now this artists’ enclave community is experiencing a resurgence, which we are eager to share with old friends and new visitors,” added McMahon.
The Gulfport Fine Arts Festival is co-sponsored by the Gulfport Merchants Chamber and the City of Gulfport and meets and exceeds all safety regulations as part of Gulfport STRONG, a heightened safety awareness campaign launched in September.
