About ALADDIN jr.
Disney’s Aladdin jr. brings the famous movie to life, on stage. In Agrabah, City of Enchantment, every beggar has a story and every camel has a tale! Aladdin, a kind but wily, street urchin, falls in love with beautiful Princess Jasmine, who he knows is waaaaay out of his league. It just so happens, however, that the Sultan has declared Princess Jasmine must choose a husband within the next day. After she turns down the offers from various wealthy suitors, Aladdin — with the help of a fast-talking, magical Genie — introduces himself as wealthy suitor Prince Ali Ababua. Meanwhile, evil royal advisor Jafar also has his sights set on the kingdom and tries to convince the Sultan to force Jasmine to wed him. Will love conquer all? Perhaps – if love has a little help from a Genie.
About the Acorn Theatre
Probably the biggest announcement of 2020 is the launching of Live Oak’s Youth Theatre program for students ages 8-18. Entitled the Acorn Theatre, our performance class meets to rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00- 6:30. The class will run in 8-week periods with 6 performances at the end of each term. The Acorn Theatre will work together to produce and perform 3 shows each year as well as participate in Brooksville’s annual Tree Lighting.
The Acorn Theatre production team consists of rotating Directors/Instructors who are assisted by a team of apprentices in the areas of Stage Manager, Assistant Director, costumes, choreography, lighting, sound, music and set design. Parent volunteers are always welcomed in these areas as well.
Acorn Theatre apprentices are chosen from regular performers of Live Oak who have “grown up” on our stage. They assume leadership roles in the production and mentor the students of the Youth Theatre.
COVID SAFETY MEASURES
We have been carefully monitoring CDC guidelines since we opened for camp this summer. Temperatures are taken of anyone who enters the building. Hand sanitizer stations are set up throughout the building and we’ve been spraying down seats, ballet barres, bathrooms, doorknobs and just about everything else that can be sprayed on a regular basis.
For OUTDOOR performances, seating will be socially distanced according to each group’s reservation. Individual socially distanced seats are available, as well. We request that our audience wear masks when standing in line or going indoors. When seated in your socially distanced outdoor seating you may remove them if you prefer!
During outdoor non-performance events (such as, The Christmas Festival), masks will not be required for walking around, and when activities are socially distanced. Masks will be required when entering the indoor areas of the Morsani Center.
For INDOOR performances, seating will be socially distanced according to each group’s reservation. Individual socially distanced seats are available, as well. Masks will be required when standing in line and moving about indoors. When seated in your socially distanced seating you may remove them if you prefer!
Due to the nature of socially distanced seating, and the limited ticket availability for each performance, all ticket must be reserved. Payments must also be made in advance either online, by mail or by dropping off a check at the box office.
Please Note: If you purchase tickets under different names and wish to be seated together, you must email the box office at liveoakboxoffice@gmail.com or call 352-593-0027.
