Local, independent nonprofit Hope Villages of America, formerly RCS Pinellas (HVA), operates a food bank that supports more than 76 food pantries in Pinellas County. Each year they provide millions of pounds of food to approximately 15 percent of our residents, including 32,000 of our most vulnerable neighbors: senior citizens and children.
Join President and CEO Kirk Ray Smith on Friday, 1/29/21, as he unveils the brand-new 26-foot refrigerated truck HVA will use to support those subsites in distributing more than 6 million pounds each year.
Learn more about the state of food insecurity in our community—and the funding partners supporting HVA’s mission to fill empty bellies each day, including:
• $95,000 from the Ruth and J.O. Stone Foundation
• $25,000 from the Pinellas Community Foundation’s Tampa Bay Resiliency Fund
• $5,000 from the Community Foundation Tampa Bay’s Tampa Bay Rapid Response Fund
• $15,000 from the Duckwall Foundation
A grateful food bank guest will also be on hand for questions.
