Did you know: One in 4 children currently do not know where their next meal will come from? One in 6 adults are facing food insecurity? One million+ are food insecure in our 10 county region? As one of the nation’s top hunger relief organizations, Feeding Tampa Bay is ending hunger by fueling human potential in every family, child and senior across our 10-county region. By leveraging the daily connection around a meal, the organization is evolving its partnerships, programs, and services with a goal to break down barriers and create long-term health and capability in the lives of the individuals they serve. In response to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Feeding Tampa Bay has evolved their services by almost doubling their reach to serve 2 million meals weekly, and anticipates it will serve up to 85 million meals this year. About Creative LoafingCreative Loafing is an award-winning alternative, weekly newspaper and website committed to providing Tampa Bay with an independent perspective, up-to-the-minute local news, and a comprehensive listing of local happenings. Creative Loafing offers readers’ unique monthly events and CL Deals, a locally focused platform featuring dining and event experiences at half-off their regular price.
Creative Loafing recently launched a donation-based membership group to build a community around readers and supporters at a time that local media across the country has been struggling, and to help underwrite work in the face of the devastating loss of revenue caused by the coronavirus pandemic. In March, CL’s parent company, Euclid Media Group (EMG), announced layoffs at each of its seven newspapers. In Tampa, seven staffers across editorial, production, events and sales were let go. CL’s small, but mighty, team is dedicated to bringing you up-to-the-minute news. To learn more about CL’s donation-based Press Club, visit cltampa.com/supportlocaljournalism
