Fundraising concert party kicks off the Gasparilla season on January 16, 2021
Tampa, Florida December 28th, 2020
The ROTARY CLUB OF TAMPA invites the community to kick off the Gasparilla season virtually at the GASPARILLA BASH on January 16, 2021 at 6pm. This pirate themed concert party will raise money for the Rotary Club of Tampa Foundation, which invests tens of thousands of dollars annually in grants, scholarships and programs that serve children and families in the Tampa area and abroad, and this year’s spotlight charity, The Crisis Center of Tampa.
Guests will experience the Gasparilla Bash in a pandemic world—by bringing the party right into guests living rooms with a one-of-a-kind concert experience featuring The Black Honkeys band. The event committee has been working to create a virtual fundraising experience that goes beyond the average Zoom event, with a highly produced concert and creating a full experience guests can enjoy safely in their homes.
This experience will include:
• A virtual broadcasted event on January 16th, 2021 featuring a performance by local R&B band the Black Honkeys
• A “Bash in a Box” to fully bring the Gasparilla experience home.
• A special, limited space VIP experience with at-home mixology and more.
• An online silent auction and a vacation raffle for a week in a private mountain home
.
“The Rotary Club of Tampa’s annual community celebration will keep going in 2021, despite and because of the challenges our community is facing. The need is great, and we are excited to use this virtual platform to bring the fun of Gasparilla into homes all over Tampa and potentially the country.” says Robin Dreier, event co-chair.
Proceeds from the Gasparilla Bash benefit local charities that partner with the Rotary Club of Tampa Foundation. The Rotary Club of Tampa has a long-term commitment to supporting the Boys and Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, the Cigar Family Foundation, and Rotary’s Camp Florida. In addition, several local organizations are the recipients of financial grants from the Foundation each year. The Foundation also provides scholarship support for top area high school graduates from the Boys and Girls Clubs, and shares holiday gifts with the county’s neediest elementary school students in partnership with Hillsborough County Public Schools.
The Rotary Club of Tampa was formed in Tampa in 1914, and currently has 145 members representing the local business community. The Rotary Club of Tampa Foundation was formed in June 1983 and is registered with the State of Florida as an autonomous 501(c)(3) organization.
