Bradenton, Fla. — Angela Dunbar, Administrative and Clinical Risk Manager with Centerstone has been recognized by the Florida Behavioral Health Association with its Behavioral Health Pandemic Hero Award.
A member of the Centerstone clinical team since 2005, Dunbar’s tenure includes patient care, lab operations, infection control and risk management. When the pandemic struck, she served as community and in-house expert on protocols, procedures and communications. Dunbar continues to personally tours units daily and provide hands-on training and education to staff. Furthermore, she is responsible for ordering and distributing all of PPE and over 100,000 masks, face shields and gowns to over 700 staff members.
“Angela’s dedication and integrity has never been more apparent than during the last eight months when she took the lead on ’all things COVID-19’,” said Melissa Larkin-Skinner, Regional CEO, Centerstone. “Her leadership and guidance continues as our inpatient and outpatient programs and services remain operational, serving the mental health and addiction care needs of numerous communities in the region.”
Dunbar’s resourcefulness for acquiring supplies during the early days of the pandemic when items were scarce is notable, Larkin-Skinner.said. “She exhausted every resource, quickly identifying and ordering PPE and kits for testing when availability was nearly non-existent for most behavioral health providers. When local distilleries converted their equipment to produce hand sanitizer, Angela traveled far and wide to collect supplies and redistribute to Centerstone staff in various locations. When surgical masks were in short supply and local volunteers were making fabric masks, she secured donations for use by patients and staff.”
