Dec. 10, 2020 (TAMPA, FL) – Jack Koehler, CCIM, ALC of Eshenbaugh Land Company represented the Buyer, Chicago based Core Spaces, in purchasing a 4.5-acre portion of Sears’ former acreage at University Mall for $6.17 million.
Core Spaces’ has plans for a 373-unit, 877-bed student housing development called Hub Tampa.
“The University area has significant barriers to entry for new student housing development due to a lack of suitable sites. This will be a home run for CORE Spaces and a perfect complement to the master plan that RD Management has envisioned for the Uptown property,” says Koehler.
The future development is now part of the Sellers, RD Managements, development master plan, Research, Innovation, Technology, Humanity and Medicine (RITHM), which they announced in July. Construction to convert the mall’s former JCPenney to office space is currently underway.
