The COVID-19 pandemic is changing how people gather to celebrate this Christmas season, but at One More Child, we are committed to keeping the spirit of the season alive!
This weekend, our Joe K. Blanton Campus in Lakeland will be lit up for all to see, as we host our Night of Lights experience this Friday and Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. The drive-thru light show will be a spectacular display – and even more – a special occasion for two brave mothers and their children, who are current participants in our Single Moms residential program.
That’s because, before our campus lights up the Lakeland night sky on Friday, they will receive two new cars gifted by GEICO through its Recycled Rides program. Since 2019, GEICO has donated six vehicles to One More Child Single Moms, helping provide reliable transportation to program participants striving to develop self-sufficiency and stability for their families.
We invite you to join us for this moment, which will take place Friday at 5 p.m., then stay to experience the festive family fun that follows. April and Kizzy, the single moms receiving the cars, will be available for interviews following the presentation, along with GEICO officials and One More Child Single Moms program leaders.
