Dr. Higgins has been elected as Chief of Surgery at Oak Hill Hospital
Hernando County, Florida (December 3, 2020) – Michael W. Higgins, DO, FAOAO (Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics), has recently been elected Oak Hill Hospital’s Chief of Surgery. Members of the Medical Executive Committee at Oak Hill Hospital serve a two-year term beginning December 1, 2020.
Dr. Higgins is also a Senior Board Examiner for the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics and provides training for residents in the Oak Hill Hospital Graduate Medical Education program.
Dr. Higgins is a Florida native and is a graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in North Miami Beach. He completed his spinal surgery fellowship at the prestigious New York University/Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Higgins completed his residency at Peninsula Hospital Consortium in New York. Prior to his residency he served as Chief Intern at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Florida.
