The Keys to Christmas Winner: Day One 11/29/2020
Congratulations to the Daniels Family of Spring Hill, FL who took our clue, then visited all the participating businesses to find the key hidden at the site of the original Rogers Christmas House, 103 S. Saxon Avenue.
I must admit the story of Rogers Christmas House, and how Margaret “Weenie” Rogers Ghiotto brought it to fruition is near and dear to my heart. From it’s early starts in the Rogers Department Store on Main Street (Now the SunTrust building), to it’s eventual move to the location up on the hill and expanding to become a village of houses. She traveled far and wide to globally market Brooksville as a destination long before the internet. It was dubbed as one of the top destinations in America. In my heart I am trying to make the same strides. Little by little marketing Brooksville to introduce to a whole new audience. To honor a legacy and continue the work of Weenie Rogers ❤️
Do you have any old photos or memories of Rogers Christmas House? We’d love to hear about them and see those photos!
