Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County to open their 66th Annual Christmas Tree Lot on November 27th

November 24, 2020 by Post

November 16, 2020 (Bradenton, Fla) Friday, November 27, 2020 marks the opening of Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County’s Christmas Tree Lot, a community tradition since 1954.

The tree lot, located in McKelvey Park, 3913 Manatee Avenue West, next to Publix and adjacent to Jessie P. Miller Elementary School in Bradenton, is scheduled to be open until December 19, while supplies last.

“It’s been a challenging year for everyone, so we felt it was more important than ever to continue this tradition and share the holiday spirit,” said Dawn Stanhope, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County.

On opening weekend, the lot will be open Friday, November 27 and Saturday, November 28 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, November 29 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.  After opening weekend, the lot will be closed Mondays through Wednesdays; open Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. To ensure everyone’s safety the number of people allowed onto the lot will be restricted to 14 customers at a time and all staff and volunteers will be wearing masks. Purchases can be made using credit or debit cards, checks or money orders – no cash sales this year.

Volunteers are also needed to work at the tree lot. In the spirit of giving, individuals, groups and companies can give their time to support the Clubs. For information on how to get involved, please email us at volunteer@bgcmanatee.org.
