2020 Celebration of Lights at The Concourse

November 13, 2020 by Post

November 12, 2020 Shady Hills, FL – The popular Celebration of Lights event is back and BRIGHTER than ever at The Concourse, to the delight of children and families in the Tampa Bay area. Presented by Farrell Cares and brought to you by The Concourse Council, Inc. and our partners at Pasco Safety Town, Pasco County Parks & Recreation Department, West Pasco Sertoma and Grand Concourse Railroad the event will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights on November 27-29, December 4-6, 11-13 & 18-20.  Friday and Saturday hours will be 6PM-10PM with Sunday hours as 6PM-9PM.

Gather your family and friends and join the excitement for just $20 per carload. This year’s event will be a safe and magical drive-thru experience throughout the property. Wave to Santa as you pass Smokey’s Cabin in Pasco Safety Town!  Make sure to get your ticket at the Train Depot to board the Grand Concourse Railroad miniature Holiday Train for a festive ride on a brand-new section of track with seasonal decorations and lights! (Please note: the Holiday Train will ONLY run on Friday and Saturday nights of the event.)

This community event was founded by Dave Parris, who passed away in August 2014, just months shy of seeing the finished product that he had worked so hard on for 4 years. He fashioned this holiday light show after the one in his hometown, with the hope that young families would create their own memories and someday bring their grandchildren.

“In 2019 The Concourse Council, Inc. took over the Celebrations of Lights event. A committee was formed with a representative from each of our partners. An investment in underground electric was made to make for a bigger and brighter event each year as we continue to grow the event to what Dave Parris intended it to be” said Steve Luikart, President of The Concourse Council. “Sponsorship fees were drastically dropped this year in the hopes of growing community involvement.”

Director of Operations and Marketing Liz Misemer joined The Concourse Council, Inc. in July of this year. “This has been a difficult year for many in our community. I am proud to be working with our generous partners and community leaders to bring a safe, fun and family-friendly event to our community” said Misemer.

The Concourse is a private nonprofit unique park venue. The 2020 Celebration of Lights is produced by The Concourse in partnership with Pasco Safety Town, Pasco County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources, the Grand Concourse Railroad, West Pasco Sertoma and Friends of Dave Parris, for the enjoyment and benefit of the community.

The Concourse is located at 11919 Alric Pottberg Road, just 1/3 of a mile west of the Suncoast Parkway on Hwy 52 in Pasco County. Tickets at the gate only – cash, debit and credit cards will be accepted. For more information find us on Facebook @Celebration of Lights at The Concourse or Visit www.CelebrationofLightsFL.org
