TAMPA, Florida – (November 4, 2020) – HCA Healthcare West Florida is pleased to announce Sheldon Barr, MSN, MBA, as the new Chief Executive Officer for South Bay Hospital. Sheldon has more than 26 years of healthcare leadership experience and is relocating from Richmond, Virginia, where she served as Chief Operating Officer of HCA Healthcare’s Chippenham Hospital. She brings to her new role more than 26 years of healthcare leadership experience and will begin her new duties at South Bay Hospital on Monday, November 9.
In her role at Chippenham Hospital, Sheldon was responsible for complex service line development, including expanding trauma, cardiovascular, orthopedic, and spine services. Prior to Chippenham, Sheldon served as COO at Portsmouth Regional Hospital and in numerous other hospital leadership roles.

Sheldon earned both her Bachelor of Nursing and Masters of Science/Acute Care RN Practitioner degrees from the University of Virginia and her MBA from Western Governor’s University.
