
Hernando, Pasco, Florida (November 3, 2020) – Michael W. Higgins, DO, FAOAO (Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics), was been invited to participate in the 2020 Virtual Fall Meeting of the AOAO. The virtual meeting was held between October 23-25, 2020. Dr. Higgins lectured on Sunday morning, October 25 on “Surviving COVID-19 – The Florida Experience.” The popular session involved several questions and answers. In addition, Dr. Higgins also moderated a general session included:
- “Spinning Down: Life, Options, Attitude & Opportunities Following an Active Surgical Practice” presented by Timothy R. Borman, DO, FAOAO
- “Where Does the Time Go? Time Management in Orthopaedic Surgery” presented by Brandon J. Horn, DO
Each presentation was followed by a virtual Ask the Speaker.
Dr. Higgins is also a Senior Board Examiner for the AOAO and provides training for residents in the Oak Hill Hospital Graduate Medical Education program.
Dr. Higgins is a Florida native and is a graduate of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in North Miami Beach. He completed his spinal surgery fellowship at the prestigious New York University/Hospital for Joint Diseases. Dr. Higgins completed his residency at Peninsula Hospital Consortium in New York. Prior to his residency he served as Chief Intern at Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, Florida.
