Savannah, GA, October 16, 2020 — Southeast Helicopter, Inc., dba Chopper, a unique Part 135 On-demand Helicopter charter company, is pleased to announce its plans to aggressively expand from its regional reach to a broad network of boutique, customized and specialized helicopter services throughout the United States and the Americas.
Chopper provides unique on-demand helicopter services with operations out of 200 bases and serving over 16,000 airports in the United States, throughout the Americas, and select international destinations. The company currently offers over 33,000 routes each day, with aggressive and targeted plans to grow in emerging markets throughout the globe.
“Our expansion took more time than originally anticipated. Similar to my experience running track and field in high school, our team worked feverishly to tackle every hurdle, whether they were regulatory obstacles, operational difficulties and other unexpected challenges along the way, because what we created did not previously exist,” said Michael Blackton, CEO of Chopper. “There are many variables and multiple moving parts in aviation. And since we always try to strive for perfection, we took our time to reach where we are at this point.”
During the travel downturn because of the COVID-19 global pandemic, Blackton and his team used the down time to their advantage and spent countless hours working on calculating and designing an integrated platform that functions seamlessly and flawlessly. “The amount of data
we had to combine into our platform was simply astonishing,” Blackton said. He predicts the company’s expansion will be reflected in the company’s platform within 6 to 8 weeks, with final rollout around the busy holiday travel season.
Reservations for Chopper’s services are currently made over the phone or via e-mail. However, customers will be able to access availability and make reservations via a fully integrated website when the final touches are made before years end. Blackton expects when that is accomplished, the company will truly be able to take off and flourish. “The past year has been tough for us, like it has been on most in the tourism and travel industry. Fortunately, we were able to use that time to improve our backend operation and focus solely on our aggressive expansion,” Blackton said.
Blackton emphasizes that the company has an advantage over the large airlines because it specifically caters to its high-end business travelers, who expect customized air transport service and frequent flights throughout the day. Airlines have dramatically cut their schedules in response to COVID-19, and Chopper can get its wide network of corporate clients when they want it where they want to go. There is also the safety factor, when you go from your car to the helicopter, it enables you to avoid the thousands of passerby’s in the airport and the hundreds of people you would traveling with, and limits your exposure only to your group.
The company’s next stage of growth will consist of a series of phases, including international destinations, partnering with rapid response medical treatment and adding the company’s own aircraft to the platform. Chopper is pleased to provide these exciting announcements in the near
future.
Chopper’s initial funding was provided through private stock sale to a select limited group of interested investors. The companies round two funding still has a handful of shares left, however the sale will close once the software launches. Blackton would be excited to field any offers, and answer any questions from interested parties who might be interested in Chopper.
