
Tampa, FL (October 16, 2020) — Railroad & Industrial Federal Credit Union (RIFCU), one of the Top 200 Credit Unions in the United States, provides youth scholarships to members in the All Aboard Youth Program. In 2020, RIFCU provided scholarships to six students. Applicants were required to submit an application and essay explaining what it means to be an All Aboard Youth Member at RIFCU.
Applicants were evaluated based on categories including, but not limited to, Community Involvement, Educational Accolades, Overall Grade Point Average, and Credit Union knowledge. Each of the selected recipients earned a $500 scholarship. 2020 All Aboard Youth Scholarship recipients’ bios, essays, and pictures can be found at www.rifcu.org/scholarship.
“I am proud to present the All Aboard Youth Scholarship to each of these talented and future leaders,” said Peter Giorgianni, President/CEO of Railroad & Industrial Federal Credit Union. “We recognize that youth members are the future of this Credit Union; therefore, we share a vested interest in their success.”
Applicants must be a primary member in good standing with RIFCU and be a graduating senior in high school or college student (rising freshman, sophomore, junior or senior) at an accredited non-profit college or university. Each applicant must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average.
2020 All Aboard Scholarship Winners
Chase Ure
Chase graduated from Howard W. Blake High School with a 5.87 GPA. He plans to attend Florida State University and will major in Commercial Music.
Espn Everhart
Espn graduated from H.B. Plant High School with a 5.59 GPA. He plans to major in Biology/Marine Biology at the University of South Florida.
Carissa Rodriguez
Carissa graduated from Durant High School with a 7.21 GPA and plans to study Nursing at Hillsborough Community College.
Kelviyana Walker
Kelviyana graduated from Armwood High School with a 7.88 GPA. She plans to attend the University of Florida as a Pre-Med student with a major in Biology.
Cody Sackles
Cody is a graduate of Tampa Bay Technical High School, where he earned a 7.0 GPA. He currently attends the University of Florida, where he studies Mechanical Engineering.
Hanna Sackles
Hannah is a graduate of Tampa Bay Technical High School, where she earned a 6.84 GPA. She attends the University of Florida and studies Environmental Engineering.
