General Aviation Leaders to Hold Town Hall at SUN ‘n FUN Holiday Flying Festival and Car Show

October 16, 2020 by Post

Lakeland, FL – October 16, 2020 – SUN ‘n FUN’s Holiday Flying Festival and Car show will feature a unique opportunity for GA pilots and enthusiasts to meet in person and have an informative dialogue with some of General Aviation’s most prolific leaders.
On Saturday, December 5 at 10AM the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) will be sponsoring a General Aviation Town Hall, where pilots can submit questions and get live answers on the state of GA in the COVID era.
SUN ‘n FUN / ACE President and CEO John Leenhouts will moderate the event, and he along with AOPA President and CEO Mark Baker, and Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) President, CEO and Board Chairman Jack Pelton, will answer submitted questions and take some from the audience, as well.
“GA is our family, and we are very fortunate to have these two industry leaders as our guests to catch us all up on the state of things in the midst of these unusual times,” said Leenhouts. “I am very pleased to welcome our friends and partners Mark Baker and Jack Pelton to Lakeland for what I know will be a very informative session.”
AOPA is the sponsor of the Town Hall and will have an exhibit and personnel on hand to support the event. “What a year, and what better time to get out and see my aviation friends again,” said Baker. “I’m looking forward to the December SUN ’n FUN event, and discussing how even in this crazy year, general aviation is flying high and why we’re such a special community. Should be a great and productive time in Lakeland – even if we’re socially distanced!”
Pelton is looking forward to greeting EAA members and all general aviation enthusiasts to start the process of rebounding after a difficult year. “We have all gone through hell dealing with the pandemic. Now is the time to get together and talk about how we will go forward responsibly. I am looking forward to the discussion at the (December) SUN ‘n FUN Town Hall.”
The Town Hall begins at 10AM on Saturday, December 5, and is expected to be well-attended.
