Inaugural IN-AWE event to bring together partners and resources in Tampa Bay to support women innovators in a virtual setting

October 8, 2020 by Post

(Tampa Bay) — With 2020 designated as “Year of the Woman” and suffrage centennial, the inaugural IN-AWE event will bring together partners and resources who support women as innovators and entrepreneurs in the Tampa Bay area and across Florida.

This virtual reception will be held October 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. This event is free but registration is required.

IN-AWE stands for Investing In, Nurturing & Accelerating Women Entrepreneurs.

It will present an opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs, female founders, investors, women-of-influence, community leaders and representatives from resource organizations who support women.

This opportunity is for networking, exchanging ideas and showcasing how ideas become businesses and how startups find funding.

Co-hosts for this inaugural event include the USF Foundation of Women in Leadership & Philanthropy, the Tampa Bay Wave, Embarc Collective, Tampa Bay Business & Wealth Magazine and Synapse. It’s sponsored by Frontier Communications, Raymond James, Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum and WUSF.

SPEAKERS:

• India Witte, of USF’s WLP on how entrepreneurship starts early and needs nurturing,
• Alex Sink, former Florida State CFO and bank executive, telling her story of how and why she became interested in supporting startups

Join us for panel discussions, pitch demonstrations and discussions that will wrap-up with a call-to-action.

Registrants will receive a post-event package containing information on how they can learn more and engage to join the effort to grow the number of successful Florida women-led businesses.
