| Run for the kitties from wherever you call home and help us save lives! Whether it’s a quick run around the house at 3 a.m. or a laid back walk on the lanai, many of our feline friends seem inclined to get up and stroll. Just like them we all need exercise – especially now! We wanted to hold our first annual 5K and one-mile fun run with all of you in person but much like some of the cats in our lives, we are “social distancing” in an effort to keep our community safe. We hope that you will join us in our first annual virtual Fall Feline Fun Runin support of the cats and kittens we serve each year and the people who love them. Registration is open now through the morning of October 31, 2020 and is $35 per registrant. If you are unable to participate in the walk/run, please consider donating or becoming a fundraiser to support our lifesaving work. The first $10,000 raised in registrations and donations will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to an anonymous donor!  WHY RUN FOR CATS?We need your assistance now more than ever to help keep cats in homes with their families. Please consider running or donating to support our efforts. Founded in 2003, Cat Depot’s mission is to save lives, find loving homes, and provide resources and education needed to improve the destiny of homeless cats. In addition to our rescue, adoption, and education efforts, Cat Depot also assists the community through: Community Food Bank: Cat Depot provides food for nearly 700 community cats and underserved personal pets each month.Cat Care Clinic: In an effort to care for sick and injured cats and their distressed owners, Cat Depot opened an affordable care clinic in November 2014. Reduced prices have helped people and their pets not only in Sarasota County by the surrounding areas. Over 6,000 cats and kittens receive treatment each year in the Cat Care Clinic. Directed contributions also provide veterinary services for qualifying cat owners. The Fall Feline Fun Run will support the above programs. Together we can save more lives! | FUN, FUN, FUN – PRIZES, CONTESTS & MORE! All participants will receive a Certificate of Completion following the race to commemorate their participation in Cat Depot’s first Fall Feline Fun Run! Certificates will be mailed to all participants the week of November 1, 2020. Commemorative T-Shirts are available for purchase for $10 each at time of registration or by calling (941) 366-2404 or emailing info@catdepot.org. CONTESTSMost Cat-letic Photo Contest: Show off your cat-letics by sharing a photo of you, your socially-distant team, or your furry exercise partners running or getting ready for our event. Don’t forget to use #FelineFunRun to be entered in the contest. We can’t wait to see all the pawsome people, places and pets supporting our run this year! From these posts, we’ll select a winner to receive a Cat Depot Tervis Tumbler and some other fun cat-themed goodies! Most Paw-some Team Theme: Did you participate in the Fall Feline Fun Run with family or friends? Did your team have a paw-some name? Did you dress up in your best cat-themed attire or costumes? The team with the best theme will win the opportunity to name a litter of Cat Depot kittens (names must be approved by Cat Depot staff) and some other fun cat-themed goodies. The Giving Cat Awards: These special awards will be bestowed upon the two (2) participants signing up the most runners and/or raising the most funds in support of our lifesaving work. Winners of the Giving Cat Awards will be announced on Friday, November 6, 2020 live on Facebook at 5 p.m. Winners will each receive a Cat Depot gift basket with cat-themed items as well as the opportunity to name a litter of kittens (names must be approved by Cat Depot). The Close to Our Heart Award: This unique award will be given to the individual who participates in the Fall Feline Fun Run from the farthest location. There are cat lovers all over the world and we are excited to see where everyone is taking part from – Alaska, Sweden, Australia – what will it be? The winner of this award will be announced on Friday, November 6, 2020 live on Facebook at 5 p.m. and will receive the opportunity to name a litter of kittens (names must be approved by Cat Depot). |
