2020 Florida Medicare Open Enrollment

MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT – NEED HELP WITH PLAN COMPARISONS?
Life should be simpler when you reach 65, correct? You are now eligible for Medicare Part A and B. Maybe you are under 65 and have been approved for Medicare Part A and B due to a disability.

Yet you find yourself overwhelmed by the information that you receive in the mail or see in advertisements. You find yourself confused by the choices that are offered and trying to understand what does it all mean.

Questions arise like:
What does Part A and Part B mean and what do they cover?
What is Part D?
When do I need to enroll in any type of Medicare Insurance?
What does it mean “Open Enrollment” for Medicare?
Do I have to answer health questions?
How much will it cost?
What are Part B Premiums?

Open Enrollment is the yearly period when people can enroll in a health insurance plan. Open Enrollment runs from November 1, 2020 to January 15, 2021. For coverage beginning January 1, 2021 you must enroll by December 31, 2020.

Medicare provides beneficial coverage for health related expenses, but it does not cover all health care expenses. There are a number of gaps in Medicare coverage that you either pay for out-of-pocket or with private insurance. A Medicare supplement insurance policy is a health insurance policy (also called Medigap) sold by a private insurance company to help fill in some of those gaps.

Although private insurance companies provide Medicare supplement coverage, Medicare supplement insurance plans are strictly regulated by both federal and state government. Make an informed decision about what is right for you. Before you purchase a plan, make sure you understand what your Medicare coverage includes. Then choose a Medicare Supplement plan that best fits your needs.

A Medicare Supplement insurance policy helps you manage and budget your health care expenses and predictability and stability. A Medical Supplement insurance policy helps pay some of the out-of-pocket costs for Medicare-approved services and works hand-in hand with the Medicare to provide more insurance coverage.
