
Tampa – Pets of all kinds and their owners are invited to the Franciscan Center on Friday, Oct. 2 for the annual “Blessing of the Animals” event. Furry, finned and feathered friends—or even stuffed animals—are all welcome to this outside blessing which will take place on the grounds of the Franciscan Center, 3010 North Perry Avenue, Tampa. Blessings are scheduled at 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The Center also will be collecting donations for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Wish list items include: collars and leashes, toys, puppy pads, dry and canned cat/dog food, cat scratchers, cages/carriers, scoopable cat litter, hay for rabbits, and much more that can be found on their website: humanesocietytampa.org/wishlist.
The Blessing of the Animals is an annual event in honor of St. Francis of Assisi who is the patron Saint of animals and the environment.
The Franciscan Center, 3010 N.
