Long-known for its expertise in providing career development opportunities for people with varying abilities, MTC’s displaced worker certification program is open to all COVID-displaced unemployed.
TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 25, 2020) – MacDonald Training Center announces openings in classes to prepare COVID-displaced workers for careers in professions in high demand because of changes in how businesses and industries must operate in the pandemic environment.
The free online classes prepare participants for careers in four pandemic-critical occupations:
• Certified Logistics Associate (CLA)
• Certified Logistics Technician (CLT), (CLA a pre-requisite)
• Basic Certified Custodial Technician & GBAC Fundamentals: Cleaning & Disinfection
• Advanced Custodial Training (Basic Custodial, a pre-requisite)
The programs are for people with or without disabilities.
“Due to pandemic-related, significant increases in online commerce, demand for qualified employees in the logistics-management field have skyrocketed,” said Karenne Levy, President and CEO of MacDonald Training Center. “The same is true for professionals trained and qualified in increased disinfection and sanitation requirements that are here to stay.
“Our programs are designed to jumpstart getting unemployed residents back to work.”
Funding for the programs is through CareerSource Tampa Bay, which is overseeing the R3CARES initiative in Hillsborough County. The program ends Dec. 1, so people are urged to apply right away.
