“It is with a mixture of great sadness and great honor that I recognize the family members and friends who have a loved one considered as a Prisoner of War or Missing in Action,” states Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “The governor’s proclamation recognizes a day for all Floridians to remember the more than 1,100 Floridians who have yet to be accounted for since the Second World War. It is our hope that the families of these service members will one day find peace in knowing what happened to their friend or family member. To those who may still be out there, somewhere in the world, please know that you are not forgotten. Not a day passes that a flag is not flown or a prayer is not said to remember you and the sacrifices you made to keep our nation free. It is with humility knowing what you have done for all of us that I and my staff say thank you.”
If you or a family member served in the Armed Forces during the Vietnam War Era the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office will be more than happy to help secure a recognition package for you.
