
Tampa Bay/Pasco County, Florida – September 17, 2020 – Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point is proud to announce the appointment of Erika van Doorn, M.D., as the Trauma Medical Director for the hospital’s Level II Trauma Center, the only Level II Trauma program in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
“Our leadership team is delighted to have Dr. van Doorn serving as our Trauma Medical Director at Bayonet Point”, explained Gina Temple, CEO. “She has an impressive clinical and academic background that will prove valuable as we continue to improve upon our existing Trauma Program.”
Prior to joining Bayonet Point as a Trauma Surgeon in August 2019, Dr. van Doorn spent 14 years as a surgical specialist in several Texas hospitals, including Medical Center Plano, a 603-bed, Level I Trauma Center. Dr. van Doorn completed her General Surgery Residency and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Dr. van Doorn is Board Certified in General Surgery and Surgery Critical Care.
