Manatee County Habitat for Humanity Builds New, Affordable Home for Bradenton Family with $10,000 Grant from Bank of America
Aspiring nurse and her family will live in newly constructed Bradenton home and contribute to home building process for other local families
BRADENTON, Fla. – To address the need for affordable, sustainable housing for working families, Manatee County Habitat for Humanity has partnered with Bank of America to construct a home for a deserving family. A $10,000 grant from Bank of America will support the completion of a new Bradenton home for aspiring nurse Jasmine Sittig, her daughter and son.
“We are committed to building safe, affordable homes that enrich our community,” said Diana Shoemaker, President & CEO, Manatee County Habitat for Humanity. “Our long-term partnership with Bank of America helps further our organization’s mission to create a world where everyone has a decent place to live.”
For 26 years, Manatee County Habitat for Humanity has built new homes for Habitat home buyers and provided critical home repairs for existing homeowners so they can stay safe and secure in their own homes and communities. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect economic conditions, many have struggled to make ends meet due to high cost of living.
“We recognize that affordable housing is fundamental for individuals and families to achieve economic mobility,” said Mike McCoy, Sarasota / Manatee market president for Bank of America. “By partnering with Habitat for Humanity to provide families with a foundation for the next phase of their lives, we are supporting our shared goal to build thriving neighborhoods and prosperity for all.”
Manatee County Habitat for Humanity has built homes throughout the area with communities in Palmetto, Ellenton and a future 16-home community in Samoset. To donate to the organization’s mission, visit http://manateehabitat.org/make-a-donation/.
