
Katrina Spagnoletti (Ruskin) was crowned Mrs. Florida American 2020 on September 5th at the Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa in Orlando Florida. The newly crowned title-holder competed as Mrs. Hillsborough County against women from all over the state of Florida. Katrina will now compete for the title of Mrs. American in Las Vegas Nevada this coming December. The winner of Mrs. American will go on to compete for the title of Mrs. World in Sri Lanka South Asia.
In addition to her current title, Katrina also captured the title of “People’ Choice” in which she raised the most money for the Victoria’s Voice Foundation, an organization created by Jackie and David Siegel, owners of the Westgate Resorts, who lost their daughter Victoria at the age of 18 to a drug overdose.
Katrina recently authored “What My Mother Never Knew”, a book designed to open-up a dialogue for those who have experienced childhood abuse. As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Katrina uses her platform VOICES to educate people on how to protect children from sexual predators, and more importantly, to help motivate survivors to tell their stories to begin the healing process.

The pageant follows the same guidelines pursuant to interview, swimwear and evening gown competitions. Mrs. Spagnoletti won the title at 56 years old. She competed against women 20+ years her junior. She is the oldest woman to ever win the state title. In addition to the Mrs. Florida American and People’s Choice crowns, Mrs. Spagnoletti won Best Fit. The last few chapters in her book is dedicated to helping women over 40; where she discusses nutrition and exercise.
