SARASOTA, Fla. (Sept. 8, 2020) – Amy MacDougall, CCIM, of Sarasota-based Ian Black Real Estate, recently earned the designation of Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) from the CCIM Institute. MacDougall joins four other brokers in the firm who have earned the CCIM. CCIM designees are recognized as leading experts in commercial investment real estate.
Individuals who hold the CCIM designation must complete advanced coursework in financial and market analysis, and demonstrate extensive experience in the commercial real estate industry. Candidates must submit a portfolio of qualifying activities, transactions or projects that meet certain sale and/or lease thresholds – often in the multi-million-dollar range. With this real-world education, CCIM designees are able to help their clients minimize risk, enhance credibility, make informed decisions and close more deals.
“I pursued the CCIM designation because I wanted to attain the best education available in the field of commercial real estate and better help my clients achieve their property investment goals,” said MacDougall, who serves as a broker associate at Ian Black Real Estate. “After earning the designation, I have a much better understanding of the information that should be considered when buying, selling and leasing property.”
MacDougall has been with Ian Black Real Estate for seven years, beginning her tenure as sales associate and assistant to partner Jag Grewal. In just a year’s time she was promoted to sales associate on Grewal’s team. In 2015 and 2016, MacDougall was named Ian Black Real Estate’s Broker of the Year, and in 2018 she became a broker associate.
Ian Black Real Estate is currently home to five CCIM designated brokers, including MacDougall. The others are Ian Black, Jag Grewal, Steve Horn and George Brusco. Partner Nick DeVito has also earned the SIOR designation.
