Local Mom & Son Bonding Through Art
September 8, 2020, Dunedin, FL
The pandemic sparked a new business idea for local mom and son. Laureen Austin, a semi-retired mom and her son, Nathaniel Austin, a multimedia artist, created artbond, a way to bond together making art while social distancing in the Tampa Bay area.
artbond is excited to launch an online shop, artbond exchange, selling merchandise to spread hope during a very tough time. Designs by artbond are intended to bring you strength, hope and a sense of belonging. “We all need a little more self-love and hope, especially during this bleak and uncertain time” says Laureen. Our mission is to inspire you to feel good, think about what’s really important to you and for you to get to know yourself better. We believe spreading hope can be contagious in a healthy context, similar to how laughter is contagious.
Since Nathaniel was a youngster, mom and son created art for fun. In recent years, Laureen and Nathaniel have collaborated on marketing projects for companies using a creative process called ICE – Idea.Concept.Execution. An idea begins in a fluid state with free-flowing thoughts. A vision begins, concepts are explored and rough sketches are made for the final design. The artist studies the concept, understands the vision and executes until the design becomes solid. ICE is done via texts, emails and phone conversations. It’s a very unusual process that connects us. It’s artbond. Laureen and Nathaniel believe that meaningful connections are everywhere but you just have to pay closer attention and appreciate them.
artbond is excited to give back and donate a portion of proceeds to a non-profit organization aiding children in need.
artbond provides design services giving you options with a fresh perspective.
