This year has closed the curtain on many venues across the country. We live in a world full of dreamers. Music is in their bones, and they live to perform. Beginning September 1st, we will be shining a light on a virtual stage. Soloist, duos and groups will have the opportunity to perform live in a nationwide competition, and possibly walk away with a grand prize of $500.
ABOUT THE COMPETITION
This is an online competition open to anyone in the United States. Solo, duo and group of any genre will enter our live music competition to compete to win special category prizes, a $500 grand prize, and the opportunity to play at a future live event in historic downtown Brooksville, Florida. This will also be valuable marketing opportunity to have your talent exposed nationwide to an entirely new audience.
Entries will be received September 1st – September 30th, 2020 Online voting will take place via our Brooksville Main Street Facebook page (Brooksville Main Street) from October 1st – October 7th, 2020 5:00pm EST. Winners to be announced October 9th, 2020. Prizes will be awarded for most votes in solo, duo and group categories. The grand prize of $500 will be awarded to the submission with the overall most votes.
1. Complete an online registration form on our website beginning September 1st: www.HistoricDowntownBrooksville.com/virtualbattleofthebands
2. Upload a quality photo of the solo, duo or group registering
3. Provide an external link to YouTube (or other host site) of the registering act’s live performance. Live performance submissions must be free from explicit language and nudity. Failure to comply with these rules will have your submission rejected.
4. Provide media information (social media links, website, email) for the registering act to be included in their profile for public voting.
5. Submit the registration fee of $25.00 per act
On October 1st, 2020 all of the submission photos will be uploaded into one Facebook post on our Brooksville Main Street Facebook page. Each photo will have the act’s media information and link to their live performance entry. The public will click the live performance link to view in an external site (i.e. YouTube). After viewing the entries, the public will vote on their favorites by their photo by using any of the Facebook Emoji reactions (Love, Haha, Care, Wow, Sad, Angry, and the classic Like.) Entrants are encouraged to share the official voting post to their social media, and have their friends, family and fans cast their votes. Voting will close on October 7th, 2020 at 5:00pm EST.
25 extra bonus votes will be given to any entry that performs in front of any “Believe In Brooksville” Banner in downtown Brooksville, Florida.
Winners will be announced October 9th, 2020. Prizes will be awarded for most votes in special categories of soloist, duo and band. The grand prize of $500.00 will be awarded to the entrant with the overall most votes. As a bonus, the grand prize winner will also have the opportunity to play at a future live event in historic downtown Brooksville, Florida. Transportation and lodging is not including in the prize awarded. Should the act decide to participate in this part of the prize they will be responsible for arranging their own lodging and transportation to Brooksville, Florida once a live event date is chosen.
