The deadline to register to vote in Florida’s upcoming primary election is July 20, with four days left to register “Women Talk Black” is hoping to get as many Floridians registered as possible before that deadline. This virtual voter registration event will feature Angela Stribling, a Washington, D.C. WHUR radio personality, celebrity DJ Beverly Bond, founder of Black Girls Rock!, also, Florida DJs Lady Shay and iRock. There will be music, dancing, and most importantly, participants will be encouraged to get on the phone and encourage their friends and family to register to vote. Featured on the program will be Kailee Scales, managing director of Black Lives Matter. “This is important work by Black women and especially for Florida. I am happy to support Women Talk Black and hope we can mobilize this energy all the way to the polls”, DJ Beverly Bond.
Women Talk Black also announces a new event partner; All Voting is Local.
“Democracy is only as strong as its participants. Platforms like Black Women Talk play an essential role in ensuring that every voice, every issue, and every concern is heard. So, when you combine Black Women Talk with voter registration efforts and music, then you have an experience that’s fun, informative, and transformational,” said Brad Ashwell, Florida State Director for All Voting is Local.
