Stageworks Theatre Announces New Virtual Saturday Youth Classes

TAMPA, FL (July 09, 2020) – Stageworks Theatre, Tampa’s longest running professional theater company known for producing socially relevant plays in Tampa’s Downtown Channel District, has released new virtual “Saturdays at Stageworks” classes. Classes will be held online in order to ensure the safety and health of all participants and run from August 1 – September 26th.

Stageworks’ youth educational classes are crafted to cultivate creativity and confidence in students aged 10-14, whether they are beginners wanting to explore the world of acting or experienced young actors seeking to enhance their acting skills or learn new techniques.

“Arts education can have a profound impact on a young person’s future,” said Karla Hartley, Producing Artistic Director at Stageworks. “Musical and theatre classes have the potential to make a lasting impact by improving academics and self-confidence. Stageworks is proud to offer these unique classes lead by esteemed teaching artists that aren’t found anywhere else in Tampa Bay.”

SATURDAYS AT STAGEWORKS (VIRTUAL)
Creative Drama
August 1 – September 26 | 11am – 12pm (via Zoom)
Stageworks’ Director of Education Dawn Traux introduces students to the tools of acting, through drama games, improv, monologues, and more!

Bucket Drumming
August 1 – September 26 | 1pm – 2pm (via Zoom)
Using his Math Music method, Stageworks’ Teaching Artist Alvon Griffin teaches students how to learn rhythm as well as create their own with this fun, high energy creative outlet.
