Pinellas County, Fla. (June 30, 2020) – RCS Pinellas President and CEO Kirk Ray Smith announced today that Achieva Credit Union has donated $69,166 to RCS Pinellas as part of a larger food drive and donation supporting food banks throughout West Central Florida.
“We’re incredibly blessed by Achieva’s generosity,” Smith said. “This gift of $69,166 represents more than 50,000 meals for Pinellas County residents who are food insecure—or flat-out hungry. This is what we mean when we say that our donors and partners bring ‘help and hope’ to our community!”
More than 475 credit union members and non-members contributed to the 30-day drive and Achieva matched donations dollar-for-dollar and raised a total of $275,000. Some donors indicated a specific county for their donation; others made a general donation which was split evenly among the counties, along with the Achieva Foundation funds.
“We’re incredibly proud of the way our Achieva members and the wider community came together in a critical time of need for so many of our neighbors,” said Gary Regoli, CEO of Achieva. “We want to thank each individual who gave, however they could, to your neighbor as yourself – these efforts demonstrate the strength of our communities’ unity and resilience.”
