Sarasota – DOH Sarasota has temporarily closed its main immunizations clinic located at 2200 Ringling Blvd. Sarasota. This closure is being done out of an abundance of caution after a positive exposure to COVID-19 was identified in the clinic.
Several staff members have been asked to self-isolate, and the clinic facility will undergo a deep cleaning this weekend. Additionally, DOH Sarasota is in the process of contacting clients that may have been exposed so they know to watch for symptoms and get tested for COVID-19.
“COVID-19 is widely circulating throughout the community, said Chuck Henry, Administrator, DOH Sarasota, “Closing the immunization clinic will limit the possibility of further spread in the clinic.”
Symptoms of COVID-19 include, fever, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
The immunizations clinic in our North Port location is not affected by this exposure and is continuing to operate.
The Ringling Immunizations clinic will reopen for services by appointment on July 10th.
