USF Board of Trustees elects Stephanie Goforth as new vice chair

June 7, 2020 by Post

TAMPA, Fla. (June 5, 2020) – The University of South Florida Board of Trustees unanimously selected Stephanie Goforth to serve as new vice chair during a board meeting held earlier this week.  Goforth is a USF alum who also serves as chair of the St. Petersburg Campus Advisory Board.

She fills the role of Les Muma, who announced his decision to remain on the board, but step down as vice chair.

“I am honored to be selected by my fellow trustees to serve in the role of vice chair.  I’m very passionate about the University of South Florida and I look forward to this opportunity to help continue the university’s momentum and build on our recent achievements,” Goforth said.  “I also wish to thank Les Muma for his ongoing commitment to our Board of Trustees and the transformative impact that he and his wife Pam have made on USF.”

Goforth is president of the West Florida Region for Northern Trust. She is based out of the downtown St. Petersburg office where she is responsible for managing all aspects of the region’s trust sales activities. With more than 24 years of trust, investment and banking experience, Goforth joined Northern Trust in 2005.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from USF.

“Trustee Goforth has long been a valuable member of the Board of Trustees, previously serving as chair of the Academics and Campus Environment Committee, audit liaison, and of course, chair of the St. Petersburg Campus Advisory Board,” said USF Board of Trustees Chair Jordan Zimmerman. “She is an outspoken advocate for all of our university campuses and communities across the Tampa Bay region and I welcome her as the new vice chair. I also give my deepest thanks to Les Muma for his service as vice chair and I am glad that he is still remaining on the board and look forward to continuing to work with him.”

In her new role as vice chair on the Board of Trustees, Goforth will continue to serve as chair of the St. Petersburg Campus Advisory Board.
