
(Brooksville, FL) The Hernando County Fine Arts Council elected its new officers on Dec. 12, 2019. Officers’ one-year terms began Jan. 1, 2020. The Fine Arts Council’s mission is to encourage, promote, and support all the creative arts in the county and provide a means to showcase the arts.
The officers are W.D. “Bill” Yerrick, Chairman; Beth Putnam, Vice-Chair; Sandra Brown, Secretary; and Tina Jarvis, Treasurer.
· Mr. Yerrick, who joined the Arts Council in February 2013, is a life-long educator and communication professional. He plays string bass in the Hernando Symphony Orchestra and is past president of the orchestra.
· Ms. Putnam joined in 2016 and has used her experience as a former English teacher and communications manager to administer the Community Arts Grant Program, spearhead strategic planning, and expand the Council’s communications efforts.
· Ms. Brown served as volunteer webmaster for two years before joining the council in 2018. Through her work on the communications team and, now as secretary, she endeavors to facilitate the valuable work of the Arts Council in Hernando County. Retired from elementary school teaching, Ms. Brown now owns and operates her own digital marketing agency.
· Tina Jarvis joined the Fine Arts Council in 2016. She is well suited as its treasurer thanks to 40 years as a financial professional. She feels strongly that the arts play a vital role in the success and sustainability of our community.
Monthly board meetings are normally held on the second Thursday of each month, 5:30 pm in the Joseph E. Johnson III Council Chambers, Brooksville City Hall at Brooksville City Hall, 201 Howell Ave. Meetings are open to the public.
