TAMPA, Fla. (May 18, 2020)—Marketing Direction President & Founder Christy Vogel announced today the company has recorded record revenue for May, logging an 86% increase in revenue year-to-date over the same period in 2019.
The St. Petersburg-based marketing company has seen an increase in revenue despite the challenges COVID-19 has created around the globe. The growth stems from businesses realizing marketing and public relations firms can help address challenging times with effective communications strategies.
When Governor DeSantis issued the “Safer at Home Order,” businesses had to immediately adjust the way they had previously operated. For many of Marketing Direction’s clients deemed essential businesses, that meant increasing communications to ensure their own clients or customers and the public were aware of these changes.
“Many of our clients saw their workload increase overnight as the CARES Act and Paycheck Protection Program rolled out,” said Vogel. “These essential businesses needed our support to help communicate specific details of those programs as well as any changes in their operating environment to the community.”
Many retailers are closed, forcing manufactures to ship directly to the end-user. One client specializing in warehousing, kitting, packing and shipping changed its business model overnight from business-to-business to business-to-consumer. Marketing Direction assisted this client and other businesses that have had to manage the shift in such a short amount of time.
Other clients who abbreviated their office hours, adjusted to a work-from-home environment or had to revamp their business strategy to keep moving forward during these times also turned to Marketing Direction for assistance. Many strategies have shifted from essential press releases and product launches to other tasks that were important, but not previously high on the priority list. Those projects include pandemic-focused support videos, updating brand messaging, creating and publishing new websites, developing new thought leadership strategies and focusing on social media campaigns.
Founded in 2009 during an unstable market with recently laid-off marketing consultants, the forward-thinking company positioned itself as a fractional marketing solution allowing it to thrive when many were cutting their marketing budgets. Now in 2020, during a global pandemic, Marketing Direction continues to succeed despite market conditions.
“Our pipeline is strong, filled with medical and technology prospects who see this as an opportunity to stand out at a time when others are hunkering down,” said Vogel. “Our team strives to provide the best solutions for our clients every day. And in the midst of this exceptionally challenging time, we are very fortunate to have a great group of clients who believe in the value marketing and public relations can bring to their businesses.”
