United Way Suncoast Provides $25,000 In Emergency Support to 211 Tampa Bay Cares, Inc. for Financial Support to Communities
TAMPA, FL – May 6, 2020 – 211 Tampa Bay Cares, Inc. will receive $25,000 in emergency funding from United Way Suncoast to provide much needed financial support as part of the 2nd round of distribution of over $1,200,000 in funding from the United Way Suncoast COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund.
“United Way Suncoast, our donors, and volunteers are working hard to serve our community at a time of greatest need. Our region’s business community and many generous individuals have contributed to our COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund to ensure that we have the immediate resources to support the most vulnerable in our community,” says United Way CEO Jessica Muroff.
“211 Tampa Bay Cares is incredibly grateful to the United Way Suncoast for providing critical support to our emergency financial assistance program,” stated 211 Tampa Bay Cares President and CEO, Micki Thompson. “Working together, we are ensuring that individuals and families experiencing a crisis of being laid off, furloughed or having a reduction in work hours during the COVID-19 pandemic, receive vital emergency financial assistance to ensure that they remain stably housed. 211 Tampa Bay Cares will use the funds to address the immediate increasing demand for financial support. They will be able to offer emergency financial assistance to help those with the highest of needs who have been affected by COVID-19 due to job loss, existing poverty, or illness. Funds will be used to pay for rent, mortgage assistance, utilities, and work support tools such as clothes, tools for construction, and transportation.
