Urban E Recycling is aware of how damaging and somewhat scary it is for local businesses now, especially the small and medium-sized ones. We are a small business too. Everybody seems to be pulling together in our area. We want to help out where we can.
It’s the first of May and COVID-19 has turned our world upside down. April was a very sad time for us because Mother Nature didn’t get to do what she is very good at doing. If you didn’t know, Mother Nature is the official mascot for Urban E Recycling. And spring is a time for cleaning out your end-of-use electronics along with other things that take up precious room. We had seven events planned in one week with local buildings to have an electronic sweep the middle week of April. We are more serious than ever about keeping electronics from the landfill. And it’s working!
April 22, Earth Day, has come and gone with little excitement. We want to make up for that by offering local businesses free onsite data destruction and responsible recycling. For local residents, we would like to extend an invitation to drop off your electronics at the 5630 East Powhatan Avenue office. At this time we cannot take you in the warehouse cage to see the hard drives being shred, but we will be happy to get your email address and sent you a certificate of destruction with video, showing your hard drive being shredded. We know security of your personal information is paramount. Actually, that is why we shred hard drives. We need your material to keep our business growing so we offer hard drive shredding at no charge.
I said earlier that what we did we do is working. Let me clarify, what our industry as a whole is working. It’s just not my opinion, it’s fact.
The statistics show are disposing of more electronics responsibly than in the past. More people are jumping on board. It’s a win-win business. I welcome the competition. Most of us in the industry play nicely. We actually need each other.
To bring our it full circle, let me quantify the Urban E Recycling COVID-19 offer. We now are accommodating local businesses to call for free onsite hard drive shredding with electronic recycling. In doing this we reduce the handling of the electronics by almost half. Our company employees will always show up in uniform, masks, and gloves.
For the residential individual that want to bring their electronics in, we will gladly take emails to send out a certificate of data destruction with video. We can no longer invite you in to see your hard drives being shredded. Hopefully, we can go back to our regular policy of letting customers seeing their hard drives shredded, very soon. We don’t know exactly how the new normal is going to be, but we are here to help.
Call for a pickup or onsite hard drive shredding and electronic recycling; or come by and drop your end-of-life computers at 5630 East Powhatan Avenue, Tampa, Florida.
