Tampa nonprofit receives a $25,000 match fund and donation from board member and donor, David Katcher and the Michael T. Berger Charitable Fund
Heartbeat International Foundation needs the community of Tampa Bay – more than ever. Due to COVID-19, spring and summer fundraisers have been canceled, and Heartbeat International Foundation is now calling upon donors to help meet the financial needs of their life-saving mission. This #GivingTuesdayNow, on May 5, 2020, will be met with a generous $25k match and donation provided by Board Member and donor, David Katcher and the Michael T. Berger Charitable Fund. This means that new donations will be matched up to $25,000 – allowing the charity to save twice as many lives.
Founded in 1984, Heartbeat International Foundation supplies pacemaker devices and cardiac care to the needy people of the world. Last week, the charity also secured a spot on another match program in partnership with Do More Good, Nonprofit Hub, and Firespring, empowering our donors with the knowledge that any donation made will go farther than ever before.
“With our heart centers located in various countries around the globe, Heartbeat International Foundation doctors, who work 100% on a volunteer basis, have continued to implant pacemakers while fighting COVID-19,” says Laura DeLise, Executive Vice President at Heartbeat International Foundation.
“Every donation of $500 saves a life,” she explains. “We hope to save as many as 100 lives this #GivingTuesdayNow.”
